Uligamma

Uligamma
Age 25, from Hyderabad, has coped with a 90% Locomotor Disability since childhood due to a health issue. Unable to attend school because of health problems and physical dependency, she didn’t give up. Instead, she learned the basics of writing and reading, as well as computer skills through YouTube. Now, she is writing a novel using the Prathi Lipi app. She also learned tailoring and beautician skills, overcoming societal judgments. She started her tailoring and saree business at home with a capital of 20,000 rupees, with her mother’s support. Due to a lack of business knowledge and marketing skills, she faced losses. Moreover, customers paid very little for her tailoring services because she operated from home without proper setup. When she approached bankers for financial support, they underestimated her due to her disability. Now, Ulligamma seeks help to start her own tailoring business, aiming for financial independence. Let’s support her journey to success!

Meanwhile, she met Vasundhara Koppula who shared her idea to start an incubator providing the necessary training, knowledge sharing, and providing financial and moral support for disabled persons to become entrepreneurs. She was pretty impressed with her versatile idea and decided to be part of this initiative. Thus her journey with De Hub started along with Vasundhara Koppula, the founder. She is also interested in starting E- an e-commerce website with tribal Art and craft products. So she also joined our program as one of the beneficiaries.
